One-week
Intensive
Students will learn all the theoretical basics about soil identification and stabilisation, compressed stabilized earth blocks, architectural guidelines. The second part of the week is practical and they will learn how to make compressed stabilized earth blocks and how to build with them. Two-week Course
Trainees learn how to produce blocks made of earth, sand and cement and how to build with them. Trainees get theoretical and practical knowledge for the block production, soil identification, design guidelines, etc. during the first week. The second week is about masonry details with all the technologies developed by the Auroville earth Institute. Trainees build themselves various appropriate technologies with earth.

Satprem Maïni
Since 1989 Satprem’s life has been dedicated to Auroville and the World for the recognition of our Mother Earth, while using its matter for the sake of sustainable development. Satprem is the director of the Auroville Earth Institute, which is a research and training centre in earth architecture. One of the aims of the Auroville Earth Institute is to give people the possibility to create and build for themselves their own habitat, while using earth technology. Satprem has trained in Auroville 3675 people, mostly Indian nationals, but also 231 people from 30 other nations. His expertise and intervention are not limited to Auroville, and his services are offered worldwide. He has worked in 19 countries over the last 19 years.
